USBC Open Championships prize checks are in the mail
Nearly 36,000 bowlers will get a share of the $5.5 million prize fund from the 2008 Open Championships.

 
The venue for the 2009 Open Championships now will feature 60 lanes and a potential record capacity of 17,400 teams.

Jeffrey Vainauskas was the biggest winner at the 2008 Bowlers Journal as he claimed the Open Singles title and topped the Dual Entry prize list.
Junior Team USA Support moved into 10th place in Regular Team on Saturday.
Larry Stephens and Anthony Burrell moved into 10th place in Regular Doubles at the Open Championships on Friday.
Jr. Team USA Support of Orlando, Fla., moved into fifth place in Team All-Events at the Open Championships on Friday.
William Thayer came up one pin short of the 32nd perfect game of this year's Open Championships.
